Gym Society

Inumerous are the gyms that are popping up with promotions and packages ever so often, u wonder whether the whole point of this era is to not let someone see u with a tiny bit of fats dangling / peeking from ur arms, thighs, cheeks and/or the tummy (the topper of the list, or atleast as far as i am concerned). But more than maintaining the physique, I guess people are equally worried about the health aspects these days.

There are so many medical conditions that are sprouting out these days that one starts to advise kids as young as 5yrs of age to watch what they are eating. Is this an indication of a lost childhood? No ice-cream, no chocolates, no fries, no potato chips.....hell ain't it not? Fast food, obesity in kids, yadda yadda yadda is plaguing the society and imposing so many inhibitions on growing kids. Is fast food the only reason for obesity? Didn't people get to eat fried stuff before McDonald's? So are we trying to say, McDonald's is making big bucks at the expense of lives? So, if everyone's aware of it, then why do people patronize such franchises, making them an everlasting success? Fast food has become part and parcel of lives, it is up to the individual to manage when and what they eat. U cannot blame a flourishing franchise (this is lazy man's talk)just coz u do not have the self-control to monitor your health.

As a progressing society globally, one should take a step back and ask, "Are we really progressing (with all these impositions)"? It looks as if, with PROGRESSION, there comes about hardly pronounceable medical conditions and terminologies, due to reasons such as prolonged exposure to various forms of radiation that new discoveries and technologies bring about and the reasons accumulate by the day. So here again, the onus lies entirely on the individual to seek all kinds of protection to lead a long, healthy life.

The phrase that "The Human Body is an Engineering Marvel" is not new to many. So, the bottom line, in order to reel in the wonders of this marvel that is the human body, is to ensure that we do not take it for granted and give in to lame excuses by pointing fingers that is totally beyond one's control, but rather taking charge of the one thing that you can control: that is your lifestyle.

So, today, hubby and I are going for a jog, and we've taken a commitment to do it on alternate days. We have decided to take charge of our lifestyle!!!

The birth of a blog thanks to frustrations

What a reason to start a blog...Anyway, it's the tribulations of a married life that has led me to literally pour out the feelings. I would like to just clarify before I move on, that being quizzed has got nothing to do with being suppressed or being weak. I sound more confused than quizzed????

Counting upto a 100days in wat's supposed to be a blissful married life, things are turning from bad to worse. I guess one would say, these are common in a newly wed but I can't withstand such pressures that I'm subjected to. Probably, it's a one-sided story. Probably he's feeling the same too and just that bot of us are unaware. Where exactly is the time to clear this unawareness in this fast moving, rat-racing society. No time to sit back and enjoy a glass of lemonade...not even over the weekends. He gets all busy with work, and when he comes back, the least he expects is a smiling lady to blurt out a warm "Hi". When that doesnt happen for whatever unexplainable reasons, basically cos I'm not in the mood for a bubbly "Hi" (and not cos of a hectic day at work on my part, but just pure sulky cos I'm the one to get back home earlier to an empty house), he gets all worked up. While being involved in an almost mundane set of chores, I inevitably become at a loss of words, thus transforming from my talkative self to a big time BORE. Whose fault is this?

Having never celebrated the Cupid's Day (Valentine's Day) in a pompous manner, the least a new wife would expect, I guess is one stalk of a rose. I'm not big on flowers in any case. But on hindsight, looking at teenagers carrying boquets, I guess I badly would have liked to be gifted that one stalk of rose!!! But I guess the way he was nurtured, no one even recognised V-Day...so there was no reason to hype about such a useless day. But nonetheless, we went out for dinner. Not a quiet one tho....what a bustling atmosphere...cos it was a small place with too many diners...good Thai food....so one can imagine....So i'm still disappointed with not getting that one rose!!!!

Summing up....I don't know wat quite to say. These are the state of affairs currently. 8 more days to hit the 100th day. Any surprises or miracles to look forward to?

Looking for answers....
