Husband Appreciation Day??!!!

I couldn't believe the absurdity of the existence of such a day: 'Husband Appreciation Day"!! To start off with, it sounds so lame, and imagine going up to your hubby and wishing him "Happy Husband Appreciation Day, honey!" He'll probably drive you to a psychiatrist immediately. The wishing phrase (as in 'Happy Birthday, Happy Mother's Day etc), doesnt have a proper flow in this case...it's such a draggy phrase; a wish should be short, sweet and to the point.

I believe the basic idea for commemorating such a day is to, not take ur spouse for granted. It might attract newly weds, but I still doubt the success of this celebration. Seriously, how many of u have been willing participants of the observance of such a day? I happened to chance upon an ad from the e-cards website I patronize, through which I have come to learn about this day! Let me pull myself out of this shock b4 i write further....

Gen Y or Gen I ???

An artist's impression of Gen Y but read on to find out more

Is the term Generation Y? Or is "Generation I" a more apt term to define those born between 1977 and 1994? The "I" here represents Internet and this is why, gen Y doesnt gel well with gen X. Gen Y is very dependent on the World Wide Web, where everything and anything under the sun is available. It is no surprise why search engine such as Google is as successful as it is right now. The sheer size of Gen Y, which is more the 3x the size of Gen X, speaks for itself on the success of the information technology. No wonder Gen X is wary of its successor.

Thanks to Gen Y, u have terms such as "Googling" proliferating among the youth of today, including young professionals. The power of the Internet has been realized. Internet has mushroomed into millions of homes today. So isnt the term "Gen I" more apt for those who have made Internet what it is today. The success of the product should be attributed to the user and not the creator.

So, is the next generation after Gen Y gonna upkeep the internet? Once again the success is owed to the user....however kids these days seem to be engulfed in computer Games and electronic gadgets than to fully utilize what the world wide web has to offer....is this an indicator of the decline of the internet dynasty???
